The lives of our Sisters today still
embody the vision of St. Vincent de Paul...

We Vincentian Sisters continue a missionary zeal in health care, administering and staffing the Vincentian Home, the Villa de Marillac, Regency Hall Nursing Home and Adult Day Care, and other Pittsburgh area health facilities. We also serve in hospitals in Arkansas, Missouri, New York, Wisconsin and in a Rural Health Program in Alabama.

Our educational ministry as administrators and teachers of elementary and secondary students in parochial schools and religious education programs extends throughout Pennsylvania, Ohio, Missouri, Alabama, and Florida. Vincentian Academy-Duquesne University, formerly Vincentian High School, now offers an International Baccalaureate program. The Vincentian Child Care Center, which began in 1972, can accomodate 150 children from six weeks to six years old. The Academy and the Child Care Center are both located on our Motherhouse grounds. Other educational ministries include college teaching, various adult education programs, religious education for persons who are deaf, and sponsoring a Montessori school.

In recent years, our Sisters have responded to the increased need in parish ministries for pastoral associates and social service ministers. Other Sisters are involved in social service ministries such as centers which provide assistance to migrant families, to senior high-rise residents, and to persons with material needs. Since 1980, our community out-reach has expanded to include the native people of Talara Alta in Peru.
