The mission of the Vincentian Home is to provide wholistic health care to those in need of rehabilitative services and/or long-term care. We endeavor to create a loving, caring atmosphere and a cheerful environment promoting the physical, spiritual, psychological and social well-being of each resident.
The spirit of St. Vincent de Paul motivates us to be a healing presence through our respect for the dignity of each person and our reverence for life. We strive to minister in a compassionate and joyful manner serving the needs of those entrusted to our care.
Since 1924 when it was opened to care for terminally ill women, the Vincentian Home, a non-profit facility, has been operated by the Vincentian Sisters of Charity of the Diocese of Pittsburgh. While the Vincentian Home takes pride in its heritage of service to the Greater Pittsburgh Roman Catholic community, skilled and intermediate nursing care are offered to individuals of all faiths. The mission of the Vincentian Sisters has set the tone for the quality of care throughout the home's history. Founded in the spirit of St. Vincent de Paul, the attitude of the staff is one that is motivated to be a healing presence through respect for the dignity of the individual and through reverence for life.
As a Medicare and Medicaid certified facility, emphasis is placed on providing the highest quality long-term care, as well as the highest standards of rehabilitative care. Residents experience an atmosphere based in a spiritual tradition of love and a joyous celebration of daily life.
